History of the
ClubTimberhill Tennis Club came into being in 1972, fulfilling the wishes of many Corvallis area tennis players for a year-round tennis facility. A small but determined group of tennis enthusiasts located the site, secured the financing, and recruited one hundred members to form the member-owned and non-profit corporation. Through the years the club facilities have expanded, the membership grown, the administration altered and the scope of programs increased. The original facility consisted of three enclosed courts and a clubhouse. About a year later three outdoor courts were added. These early members would find it hard to recognize the club today. There are six indoor courts, a clubhouse, locker rooms, and shower rooms. The two outdoor courts are located in a landscaped area above the other buildings and include spectator seating. Membership has increased gradually through the years from the original 100 to over 225 today.
